There are extensive and uniformly signposted networks of cycling routes in both Twente and Salland. The routes are connected through a system of junctions, which can be used to change from one route to another.

The region of Twente provides an extensive network of walking trails, which allows the visitor to discover the beautiful Twente scenery. Old and new routes are connected within this network to form 455 routes in total. This adds up to a total of 3500 km of walking trails.

The Twente region, in close collaboration with the Province of Overijssel, the 14 municipalities in Twente, MTB associations and landowners and managers, is developing a continuous mountain biking route network in Twente.

In the Twente region, there is a network of horseback riding trails, connecting over 1000 kilometers of signposted trails through a system of junctions. The trails run through the Sallandse Heuvelrug, along the Twenterand peatlands, through the Nationaal Landschap Noordoost-Twente country, through the town of Haaksbergen and around the estates of the Hof vanTwente region.
